Today is the first day of #watermarbleparacticewed for August on Instagram. This week’s challenge is “Glitter Base”. And I’ve been wanting to push myself to see if I can complete as many nail art challenges as I possibly can this month just to see if it can help with my motivation issue. So, along with WMPW, I’ve included a challenge from @clairestelle8challenge… today is Hawaiian. I don’t want to get into stereotypical “Hawaiian” motifs so I went with what feels like Hawai’i to me. When I think of Hawai’i I think of leis and leis make me think of plumerias. So I did some watermarbling with plumeria accents.
I used Orly’s Mirrorball as my base polish. I just love the holo with holo glitters mixed in. So freaking pretty.
For watermarbling, I used “Miracle Nail” from Dollar Tree (it’s one of the best clear polishes I’ve found for watermarble), China Glaze “Sky High-Top”, Sally Hansen “Purple Craze”.
The stamping polishes I’ve chosen for today are from the “Polish of my People” collection by MPolish. From the left: “Fresh Perspective”, “Pish Plashin’ Around”, and “Dancing in the Street”.
And my stamping supplies: Pueen plate 72, red squishy replacement head from Jolie Polish on Etsy, and my Creative Shop scraper.
Overall, I am very pleased with how these turned out. The glitter shows up nicely beneath both the watermarble and the stamping. If you’d like to see the entire process, please check out my youtube video linked below.
